ETCA is helping to protect, conserve and replenish the marine eco-systems of El Transito, Nicaragua.  Our Turtle Sanctuary provides a protected area for turtles during hatching season.

The world is a dangerous place for these tiny turtles and their parents. They’re threatened by climate change, boat traffic, fishing gear, and humans harvesting their eggs. That’s why in 2014 ETCA founded the El Transito Turtle Sanctuary.

Every year, during nesting and hatching season the residents of El Transito work to protect the mothers, eggs and baby turtles.

ETCA also offers seminars and workshops throughout the year to educate residents on the environment and how best to protect these valuable natural resources.

If you are interested in donating to help El Transito protect its turtle population, we would welcome your support.
